MERJE Ltd is working exclusively with a leading Energy trading company in their search for a Head of Trade Surveillance to join their team in London.

This company is a leading Energy & Commodities trading firm and parent company of several well-known brands. They are committed to providing innovative and sustainable solutions to their customers and are passionate about driving change in the industry.

The Head of Surveillance role is a critical position ensuring adequate and appropriate framework and controls are in place to mitigate risks across the business and support them through their growth plans.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and maintain the surveillance strategy aligned with the business strategy and future growth plans
  • Provide guidance and training to team members
  • Collaborate with other departments to identify and mitigate risks
  • Stay up-to-date with regulatory changes and industry developments
  • Strong grasp of key regulations, including MAR, REMIT, EMIR, MIFID
  • Define and maintain a surveillance operating model within a growing business (ideally commodity trading)
  • Manage relationships with Executive level stakeholders and support
  • Oversee and sponsor strategic surveillance change and/or remedial projects
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to interact with people at all levels
