About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Health Analyst to join our Public Health Intelligence (PHI) team at Wiltshire Council. As a Public Health Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of our public health objectives by providing high-quality analysis and intelligence to inform strategic planning, public health initiatives, and service evaluation.

Main Responsibilities

  • Perform analysis for the Public Health team, including producing briefings on national data publications and supporting performance monitoring and evaluations of services delivered by Wiltshire Council.
  • Respond to information requests from the public, council staff, and partner organisations, and provide urgent analysis in the event of an incident or outbreak.
  • Develop and deliver bespoke training regarding Excel, surveys, and infographics to members of the public health department.
  • Communicate availability of PHI products through websites, monthly newsletters, presentations, and workshops, and act as the point of contact for the wider public health team for further information, guidance, and advice.

Requirements

  • Degree or equivalent experience/skills working in information management and analysis.
  • Experience of working within information governance and data security guidelines.
  • Ability to maintain and develop personal skills in information analysis, statistical techniques, and software packages.
  • Some experience of leading, developing, and delivering projects in a team.
  • Proven ability to interpret and analyse highly complex information and situations.
