Operative with Multi-Skilled Responsibilities

Transforming Waste Management.

Biffa is at the forefront of waste management, and we're looking for a talented individual to join our team as a Multi Skilled Operative.

As a key member of our operations team, you'll be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of site vehicles, receiving and directing waste, loading RDF and commodity bales, and maintaining a clean and safe working environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing daily equipment checks and completing daily report forms for all equipment used, including mileage and service records
  • Operating with diligence and care to ensure Health and Safety parameters are strictly adhered to
  • Providing control of the waste directly at the point of unloading
  • Cleaning the working area in and out of the cab
  • Informing the shift leader about accidents, unsuitable waste, and other critical incidents

Requirements:

We're looking for someone with:

  • A strong attitude for compliance and good attention to detail
  • Robust and resilient, able to absorb pressure and respond positively

Advantageous:

  • Experience in Waste Management, Warehousing, or Construction
  • Mechanical knowledge and mobile plant operation and maintenance skills
  • Previous experience in operating a Forklift Truck, loading shovel, or 360
