Software/Controls Engineer - Wynne Consulting (Hybrid) - Competitive Salary

Wynne Consulting is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Software/Controls Engineer to join our international team and deliver the development of a new software platform. The goal is to create an enhanced version of our Energy Management System (EMS) that controls distributed assets to provide services to Transmission System Operators and sell electricity in electricity markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and test software applications for embedded systems and automation platforms.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software solutions with existing systems and infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain software documentation, including technical specifications, user manuals, and release notes.
  • Participate in Agile software development methodologies and contribute to the development of software requirements, design, development, testing, and deployment.
  • Work closely with the development team to ensure software solutions meet the required quality and performance standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in software development and automation.
  • Contribute to the development of software solutions that meet the needs of our clients and stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Minimum B.Sc. in Control Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in setting up Programme Logic Controllers (PLCs) and embedded controllers and single board controllers.
  • Proficient in using both Windows and Linux operating systems.
  • Experience in interfacing with Input/Output (IO) devices.
  • Knowledge of Ethernet, TCP/IP, and application protocols such as Modbus TCP/IP, IEC, or Profinet.
  • Proficient in C# and experience with different software paradigms, such as object-oriented programming and functional programming.
  • Ability to lead the creation of software products from an end-to-end perspective, following the main steps required in software development.
  • Experience working in the power industry, ideally within a resource aggregator.
  • Familiarity with Agile software development principles and SCADA platforms, such as Zenon or Ignition.
