About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our team at Smallbrook School, part of Acorn Education.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will provide tailored support to teachers and pupils with special needs, promoting their educational and social development in a specialist school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teachers in delivering educational programs and activities for pupils with complex needs.
  • Provide one-to-one assistance to pupils, adapting communication styles to meet their individual needs.
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting pupil wellbeing and engagement.
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching team to develop and implement personalized education plans.
  • Participate in training and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.

Requirements:

  • A Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or willingness to work towards it.
  • Experience working with pupils with special needs and complex behaviors.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils.
