Embedded Software Engineer

We are seeking a talented and motivated Embedded Software Engineer to join our team at Focus Resourcing. As a key member of our software development team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing embedded systems for our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Design and Development: Collaborate with our team to develop electronic control and communication software for new products and refine existing products as part of our product enhancement program.
- Diagnostics and Troubleshooting: Undertake diagnostics of components to identify problem root causes and implement fixes.
- Project Management: Utilise our project management methodology to work collaboratively with the team on projects from start to completion, providing expert input into new feature development.
- Technical Support: Provide support and technical expertise to ensure existing product ranges remain compliant, updating them accordingly where necessary.
- Software Optimization: Ongoing review and optimisation of software designs to identify and implement cost savings and performance improvements. This includes keeping up to date with core industry technologies and advancements.
- Embedded Systems Experience: Demonstrated experience of designing, analysing and developing embedded systems.
- Prototyping Skills: Ability to rapidly prototype embedded boards for development e.g. in-circuit emulators.
- Innovative Thinking: Innovative in thinking with the ability to effectively communicate new ideas with justification from first principles.
- Programming Skills: Strong IT skills with experience of C programming/ assembler (8/16/32 bit platforms).
- Serial Protocol Experience: Experience in serial protocols (RS232, RS485, I2C, SPI) and ADC techniques (software filtering etc).
- Code Porting: Experience of code porting between different microcontroller architectures.
- Communication Skills: Able to build good working relationships with colleagues and customers.
- Organisation and Time Management: Good organisation and time management skills.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Good problem-solving skills.
- RF Comms Experience: Experience of RF comms functionality e.g. WiFi/Bluetooth/ISM systems.
- Modbus Protocol Experience: Experience of Modbus protocol.
- Development Environments: Experience in Windows and Linux development environments.
- Embedded Wizard Experience: Experience of Embedded Wizard.
- Company Pension Scheme: The company will double your pension contributions to a max of 8% of salary.
