About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance and Assurance Expert to join our team at Royal Mail. As a key member of our Environmental Compliance team, you will play a crucial part in managing and delivering compliance and remediation across our diverse estate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement the Environment and DSEAR strategy, standards, assurance regimes, and supporting programs.
  • Ensure compliance with legislative requirements and best practices within environmental management and DSEAR areas.
  • Complete risk management of key environmental impacts, such as fuel, gas, and oil.
  • Collaborate with the Health, Safety & Environmental functions to develop and implement compliance frameworks.
  • Manage operational issues, escalations, and resolutions with stakeholders.
  • Be part of the senior management on-call escalation and Out of Hours Duty Manager rota.

About You

We are looking for a highly experienced professional with a strong background in environmental compliance and DSEAR. You will need to demonstrate the following qualifications, skills, and experiences:

  • BSc/MSc in Environmental/DSEAR or equivalent (essential).
  • Up-to-date accreditations in associated disciplines relating to Environmental and DSEAR (essential).
  • Experience managing all technical aspects of Environment and DSEAR, including the implementation of ISO management processes and systems (essential).
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and engage teams and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders, to translate environmental requirements into required actions at an operational level.

What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary, 15% bonus potential, £6,809 car allowance per annum, health care, and 22.5 days annual leave plus bank holidays. As a key member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects and contribute to the development of our Environmental Compliance strategy.
