Job Title: Asbestos Compliance Specialist

Location: South East Region

Salary: £42K

Hours: Full time 42.5 hours per week (Mon-Fri)

Environmental Essentials, a well-established asbestos company with 3 offices across the UK, is seeking an Asbestos Compliance Specialist to join our team in the South East Region. This role is responsible for ensuring the company maintains continual compliance with field staff assessment and quality assurance auditing.

The Job Role

  • Undertake practical and theoretical on-site training and assessment of field staff as required.
  • Supervise and mentor trainees/new technical staff, or existing staff competency assessments, witness auditing, and necessary field-related QA activities.
  • Ensure feedback on staff performance is collated and provided to the Training and Development Manager and regional management in an efficient manner.
  • Escalate substandard performance and of personnel failing to meet expected progress to the regional management team in line with performance review milestones.
  • Ensure the company's operating procedures, standards, and expectations are being communicated effectively through training and own behavior.
  • Assist the Quality Manager with regionally based quality control activities, such as equipment calibrations and maintenance, provision and collation of QC schemes, investigations in relation to non-conforming work and client complaints.
  • Ongoing maintenance and management of the skills matrix for technical field staff operating from the regional office.
  • Assist the Technical Manager with the training and authorisation of staff for reviewing technical reports.

About You

  • P402, P403, P404
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience within the asbestos industry, and previous experience of working under a UKAS accredited management system.
  • Experience of providing supervision/mentoring of field staff.
  • Knowledge of EEL technical procedures related to area of expertise.
  • Understanding of quality processes and auditing techniques.
  • Awareness of current issues and developments in the asbestos industry.
  • Knowledge of current health and safety legislation.
