About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Marine Underwriter to join our team at Aviva Marine. As a key member of our cargo and freight liability team, you will play a critical role in driving the success and growth of our business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement underwriting strategies to achieve business growth and profitability targets
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with brokers and customers to drive business development and retention
  • Manage a portfolio of marine cargo and freight liability risks, ensuring accurate and timely underwriting decisions
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and implement business plans and strategies
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and developments, applying knowledge to inform underwriting decisions
Requirements
  • Proven experience in marine underwriting, with a focus on cargo and freight liability
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed decisions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong technical knowledge of marine insurance and underwriting principles
