Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Management Accountant to join our finance team in a public sector organisation. This role offers a hybrid working setup, allowing you to balance office and remote work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and present monthly management accounts, including variance analysis and commentary, to provide insightful financial analysis for business decisions.
  • Manage the budgeting and forecasting process to ensure accuracy and timeliness, driving informed decision-making across the organisation.
  • Oversee financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards and regulations, maintaining the highest level of professionalism.
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members, providing guidance and support to foster their professional development.
  • Collaborate with various departments to gather financial data and provide valuable insights, promoting effective communication and collaboration.
  • Assist in the preparation of year-end accounts and liaise with external auditors to ensure seamless audit processes.
  • Continuously improve financial processes and systems to enhance efficiency, drive productivity, and maintain a competitive edge.
About You

To succeed in this role, you will need:

  • A part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with proven experience in management accounting or a similar field.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret complex financial data, coupled with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with a commitment to delivering high-quality results.
