Job Overview

The NHS Professionals team is seeking a skilled Senior Imaging Technician to join the Theatres at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust FT. This exciting role offers opportunities for growth, development, and excellence in ophthalmic imaging.

In this position, you will provide high-quality Visual Field and Ophthalmic Imaging Services, oversee imagers' training, and audit image quality. You will be responsible for providing diagnostic imaging procedures with high standards and reproducibility, accurate patient data entry into imaging platforms, and liaison with ophthalmic consultants, optometrists, and nursing staff for accurate diagnosis and care pathways.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Delivery of clinical diagnostic imaging procedures with high standards and reproducibility.
  • Accurate patient data entry into imaging platforms.
  • Liaise with Ophthalmic Consultants, Optometrists, and Nursing staff for accurate diagnosis and care pathway.
  • Fundus camera and software programmes for fluorescein angiography, Indocyanine Green angiography, and retinal photography.
  • Testing of patient's visual fields and visual acuity for diagnosis and treatment.
  • Assessment of patient's ability to pass the DVLA requirement for Visual Fields and Visual Acuity.
  • Analysis, judgment, and advice on imaging requests.
  • Manage imaging workload workflow, allocation of tasks, and prioritisation of workload.
  • Review test results and communicate with doctors where intervention is required.
  • Image manipulation and graphics software for optimised image acquisition.
  • Monitoring of equipment levels and performance, reporting, and ordering supplies.

Salary: £15.67 per hour.

Work Location: In-person at University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust FT.
