The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in inspecting and assessing fire doors and compartmentation in residential and commercial properties. As a Fire Door Assessor and Estimator, you will be responsible for identifying areas of improvement, providing technical advice, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough site inspections to identify fire door and compartmentation issues
- Develop and implement corrective actions to ensure compliance with regulations
- Collaborate with project coordinators to manage appointments and schedules
- Provide technical guidance to the project delivery team
- Perform post-work inspections and sign-offs
- Assist the operations manager as needed
- Procure materials and equipment for fire door and compartmentation works
- Complete work sheets and quotes using our mobile app
Requirements:
- Proven technical knowledge of fire doors and compartmentation/fire stopping
- Experience working in a team environment
- Excellent communication and reporting skills
- Experience surveying fire doors and fire stopping
- NVQ or equivalent in carpentry or FDIS or equivalent in fire doors
- Strong diary and organization skills
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the fire door industry
- Thorough and process-driven approach
- Hardworking and reliable work ethic
- Previous experience in maintenance and building environments, ideally in commercial or residential sectors
- Previous use of handheld technology/smartphone
- HSE understanding
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- FDIS Qualifications (favored)
Job Type: Permanent and Full-time
Salary: £44k - £52k per annum
Working Hours: 8:00 – 17:00 with a 1 hour unpaid lunch break, Monday to Friday
