About the Role
  • We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Lighting Specialist to join our team at DNEG Group. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in feature animation, visual effects, and game industry production.
  • Key responsibilities include feature animation, visual effects, or game industry production experience, as well as experience with Katana and Renderman.
  • A strong understanding of a VFX or feature animation pipeline is essential, as is the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience collaborating with a team of artists and strong technical and creative problem-solving skills are also required.
Requirements
  • Feature animation, visual effects, or game industry production experience;
  • Experience with Katana and Renderman;
  • Scripting experience (Python, Lua, etc.);
  • Strong technical and creative problem-solving skills;
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision;
  • Experience collaborating with a team of artists;
  • Solid understanding of a VFX or feature animation pipeline;
  • Understanding of modern physically based rendering technology and pipelines.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Exceptional communication skills in dealing with both technical and artistic groups;
  • Software development experience (Python, C, C++, etc.);
  • Experience lighting, shading and/or compositing;
  • Experience with Nuke;
  • Ability to prototype rapidly and deliver quick solutions;
  • Previous work experience working in a fast-paced creative technology environment.
