Financial Services Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Services Manager to join our team at Wyre Borough Council. As a key member of our finance department, you will play a crucial role in delivering a professional finance service across the council.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the Financial Services team in providing financial guidance and support to council departments
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to improve financial management and reporting
  • Collaborate with the Assistant Director of Finance, Revenues and Benefits to ensure effective financial planning and budgeting
  • Manage the production of the council's statutory accounts and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Provide financial analysis and advice to inform business decisions and drive improvement
Requirements:
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and experience in local government finance
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Proven track record of delivering financial improvements and driving change
  • Ability to work collaboratively across the organisation to achieve shared goals
