Precision Assembly Specialist

We are partnering with a highly specialised critical manufacturing business to recruit an experienced Aerospace Assembly and Test Technician. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing procedures, performing rigorous testing, and continuously improving departmental processes.
- Conduct advanced testing, including functional, electrical, vibration, shock, thermal vacuum (TVAC) & RF.
- Develop and document detailed Manufacturing Assembly Procedures (MAPs) and Test Procedures.
- Perform detailed inspections of machined parts using precision metrology equipment.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Participate in internal and customer reviews, effectively communicating project milestones.
- Visit suppliers and subcontractors to monitor progress and ensure quality compliance when required.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Strong background in precision assembly of high-value components.
- In-depth knowledge of assembly & testing processes, including:
- Functional testing
- Electrical bonding and isolation
- Vibration and shock testing
- Thermal vacuum (TVAC) testing
- Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings, including tolerances and material specifications.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
- Proven ability to write and implement assembly and test procedures.
- Flexible attitude towards working hours to meet project schedules (e.g., overtime or weekends).
- Apprenticeship or formal training in mechanical engineering.
