Assembly Technician Role Working within a small team at our Engineering facility in rural Oxfordshire.
We are developing new technologies for Hydrogen fueled vehicles and have a requirement for an assembly technician to produce low volume batches of hardware.
This is a fast-moving development environment.
The components are currently being developed, but we have plans to commence serial production in 2026.
·        The role is initially for a 20-week contract starting in January 2025, however this could lead to something more permanent for the right applicant.
·        Weeks days, 37.5 hours per week.
·        Up to £200/day depending on the applicant's experience and suitability Role details Assemble precision mechanical components according to engineering specifications, drawings and instructions.
This role may also involve testing, component inspection, troubleshooting and repairing any issues that may arise.
The Assembly Technician must be able to work safely and efficiently with hand tools.
Ability to work with power tools, machinery and other equipment would be advantageous.
They must also possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
They must also ensure that the products meet quality and safety standards.
Assembly Technician Duties Assemble components in accordance with technical drawings and or detailed processes Complete documentation to ensure quality controls are met Stock control Test completed assemblies for correct operation Identify and replace defective components Investigate and diagnose faults Ensure health and safety regulations are adhered to Assembly Technician Requirements Able to read and understand technical drawings, schematics and instructions Good practical skills and manual dexterity Able to use a variety of hand and possibly power tools Able to work accurately, methodically and to complete tasks to a high standard Able to work to tight deadlines Must be able to work on site (no remote working) Must be a UK resident with the right to work in the UK Assembly Technician Skills A basic knowledge of engineering principles and practices Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics Basic IT skills Excellent analytical and problem solving skills Attention to detail and accuracy Good practical mechanical aptitude Good communication and interpersonal skills Assembly Technician Personal Traits Positive, 'can do' attitude Flexibility Team player Good communication Attention to detail Good problem solving skills Ability to follow precise instructions Ability to work to tight deadlines
