About the Role

The Deputy Director for Employee Relations and Reward will play a critical role in shaping the future of employee relations and reward at HM Revenue and Customs. This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development of a comprehensive reward strategy that aligns with the organization's vision and goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of a reward strategy that supports the organization's business objectives and enhances employee engagement.
  • Manage the employee relations function, including collective bargaining, employee communications, and conflict resolution.
  • Collaborate with senior leaders and stakeholders to ensure that reward and employee relations initiatives are aligned with the organization's overall strategy.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with trade unions, ensuring effective communication and negotiation.
  • Provide expert advice on employment law and employee relations matters, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Lead the development of policies and procedures related to employee relations and reward.
  • Manage budgets and resources to ensure effective delivery of reward and employee relations initiatives.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in leading employee relations and reward functions in a large, complex organization.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and employee relations principles.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Ability to analyze complex data and develop evidence-based recommendations.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive business outcomes.
  • CIPD or equivalent qualification in HR or a related field.
