Job Overview

This Audit Senior Manager position supports the Senior Management team, including Partners, in developing and building the audit team and client offering. You will work closely with clients to provide an exceptional audit service.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Assisting the client service management team in formulating audit strategies and planning.
  2. Serving as a technical expert for audit assignments, providing advice to the audit team and clients.
  3. Leading an audit team, ensuring timely completion within budget.
  4. Managing audit assignments from planning through finalization of reports, adhering to agreed timescales.
  5. Controlling time spent and monitoring actual time within budget.
  6. Effective people management, including coaching, feedback, performance management, training, and development, engaging high-performing teams.
  7. Maintaining control and stability under pressure while recognizing deadlines or urgency.
  8. Ensuring standards and procedures are maintained by the whole team.
  9. Drafting the audit opinion summary for the Partner and other reporting documents, including group reporting and audit committee papers.
  10. Ensuring clients are billed according to agreed billing plans.
  11. Captitalizing on opportunities and prospects for new work.
  12. Business development, collaborating with colleagues in other teams.
  13. Serving as a point of contact for senior management and clients.
  14. Building strong working relationships with clients.
  15. Demonstrating vision and strategic perspective.
  16. Confidently presenting service features and benefits to clients.
  17. Ensuring audit services are genuinely appropriate for the client.
  18. Producing high-quality work, meeting regulatory requirements and the Firm's policy.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  1. Significant experience leading external audits, managing a portfolio of clients, and leading audit teams.
  2. Prior experience working at an experienced Audit manager level.
  3. Relevant industry and services sector audit experience.
  4. Up-to-date technical knowledge of UK GAAP/FRS102 and IFRS.
  5. Experience managing, training, and coaching an audit team.
  6. Proficiency in using audit software and Microsoft packages.
  7. Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  8. Commitment to enhancing expertise and knowledge.
  9. Experience developing new initiatives and methodologies.
  10. Ability to identify issues through sound analysis and commercial acumen.
  11. Taking ownership of projects, effectively delegating to others within the team, and responsibility for quality control.
  12. Developing a network of client contacts and market contacts.
