Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Engineer Apprentice to join our team at our flagship site in the Meals Solutions division. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our factory production, minimizing downtime, and improving equipment efficiency and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns, providing a high level of engineering service to minimize downtime and ensure the smooth running of factory production.
  • Undertake planned maintenance work to improve equipment efficiency and reliability, and to prevent potential issues from arising.
  • Work on various projects, such as commissioning new equipment and upgrading existing kit, to drive performance and reliability.
  • Proactively identify and implement new and improved ways of working to drive performance and reliability, and to contribute to the continuous improvement of our processes.
  • Work a shift pattern of 7 days out of 14, with 12 hour shifts, to ensure that our factory production operates smoothly and efficiently at all times.

About You

  • You will have a strong background in electrical or mechanical engineering, and a proven track record of working in a food manufacturing environment.
  • You will be a team player, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to develop good working relationships with colleagues at all levels across the business.
  • You will be proactive, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and a willingness to take on new challenges and responsibilities.
  • You will be committed to delivering exceptional results, and to contributing to the success of our business.
