We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Mathematics Teacher to join our team at Excell Supply, a specialist school in Welshpool dedicated to supporting young people with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have experience or a strong interest in working with students who require additional support. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of young people by fostering their confidence, resilience, and academic success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teaching and Learning: Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in Maths across KS3 and KS4, as well as teaching a small proportion of Science lessons.
  • Adaptation and Flexibility: Adapt teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students with SEMH challenges.
  • Pupil Progress: Build positive relationships with students, encouraging participation and progress.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Collaborate with colleagues to develop individual education plans (IEPs) and provide targeted support.
  • School Community: Contribute to the wider school community, including pastoral care and extracurricular activities.

Requirements:
  • Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
  • Subject Knowledge: Strong subject knowledge in Maths and the ability to teach Science to a basic level.
  • Personal Qualities: Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
  • Experience: A genuine interest in supporting students with SEMH needs.
  • Certification: Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
