Job Description:

At Leonardo, we are seeking a highly skilled CMS Manufacturing Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our manufacturing engineering team, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of manufacturing processes and procedures to ensure the efficient production of high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of manufacturing engineers in the development and implementation of manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Assist in the technical support, tooling, and documentation to enable the production of high-quality products.
  • Plan and implement continuous assembly sequences and processes to achieve the build standard, product quality, budget hours, and delivery schedule.
  • Drive team performance and improve product-manufacturing processes, setting high standards and mentoring others.
Requirements:
  • Education to at least HNC or equivalent in an engineering discipline, or a time-served apprenticeship or relevant experience.
  • 5 years of post-training experience.
  • Good working knowledge of the manufacture of sheet metal detail parts, metallic machining, and mechanical assemblies.
  • Good working knowledge of metallic heat treatments, hardness testing, and flaw detection.
  • Team leader and excellent communicator with influencing skills.
  • Engineer background from an aerospace or high-integrity mechanical manufacturing environment, tools, and processes.
  • Can-do proactive and business-driven approach to improvements, customer satisfaction, and high-quality standards to lead by example and drive for success.
  • Advanced or proven analysis and problem-solving techniques.
  • Demonstrate proven leadership skills, multitasking, and driving projects to completion.
  • Interpersonal skills at all levels, reporting monthly.
Desirable Skills:
  • Able to navigate the AW Intranet and the Company Operating System (COS).
  • Familiar with the use of Microsoft package software such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project. Specific application may apply.
  • Good knowledge of the principles of MRP (Material Requisite Planning).
  • Familiar with the Engineering change process and documentation.
  • Working knowledge of the process and output of the Configuration Control Board (CCB).
  • Working knowledge of CATIA (V4 & V5) and ENOVIA.
  • Working knowledge of SAP (ECC6) and the modules applicable to the Manufacturing Engineering and Quality functions.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Experience lead in efficiency tools to create estimating models.
