The Factory Quality Assurance and Compliance Manager is a critical position within Gü Desserts, responsible for overseeing all aspects of factory quality-related operational activities to ensure full compliance to standards and product safety.
This role requires a strong technical background and proven experience in a factory-facing Quality Manager role, with a focus on driving technical compliance, managing product quality assurance and control, and leading compliance review meetings.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of BRC, HACCP, and other food quality standards, as well as auditing experience both internal and external.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive Technical Compliance: Ensure all aspects of the factory are compliant with FSQM System standards.
- Manage Product Quality Assurance and Control: Ensure all products produced on site conform to food safety, quality, and legal standards.
- Lead Compliance Review Meetings: Report on emerging trends and capture all areas of risk.
- Develop Action Plans: Drive excellence in customer complaints, internal and external NCR, pest control, and GMP audit results.
- Collaborate with Shift Production Managers and Maintenance Manager: Manage daily issues, develop clear action plans, and maintain effective communication channels.
- Create Development Plans: Provide leadership and clear direction to support succession planning and team engagement.
- Oversee Critical Control Points: Ensure food safety is maintained at all times.
- Manage GMP Audits: Conduct regular audits with PCs to ensure high standards and challenge processes for best practice requirements.
Requirements:
- Full Clean Driving Licence required for role.
- Strong technical background and proven experience in a factory-facing Quality Manager role.
- Experience in leading and supervising a small team.
- Experience of working in a chilled food manufacturing environment is preferable.
- A strong understanding of BRC, HACCP, and other food quality standards.
- Auditing experience both internal and external.
- Resilience, proactive, and assertive, with the ability to make sound judgments and decisions.
- Computer literate with a working knowledge of MS Office, Excel, and SAP.
- Good supervisory and leadership skills, with the ability to direct personnel and discipline fairly, even-handedly, and consistently.
