Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust is seeking an Infection Control Specialist to join our team. The estimated salary for this role is £34,000 - £44,000 per annum.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment and contribute to the development of infection control practices within our trust. As an Infection Control Specialist, you will be responsible for promoting and setting high standards of infection prevention and control (IPC) across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implementing Trust values and beliefs into everyday practice to ensure a safe and effective working environment
  • Providing IPC advice to mitigate risks of infection to patients, staff, and visitors
  • Supporting the IPC Team in the development of audit tools and the IPC Audit programme
  • Contribute to a weekend rota to provide 7-day IPC cover
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A strong understanding of national and local guidelines relating to IPC
  • The ability to communicate effectively with staff at all levels
  • Excellent leadership and problem-solving skills
  • The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
