Deputy Head of Procurement Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Head of Procurement to join our Procurement Team at NHS National Services Scotland.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and delivery of commercial strategies and contracts, influencing change at both operational and strategic levels.

Key responsibilities will include taking lead responsibility for critical elements of the delivery of NHS Lothian's Procurement Strategy, and a lead role in the delivery of best practice commercial practice, providing mentoring, advice, and guidance on strategic and tactical options within the prevailing legislative framework to departments' lead Officers and Buyers.

The post holder will work closely with NHS Lothian's Associate Director of Procurement, contributing to leading continuous improvement and value for the Board, aligning agreed Procurement Strategy with the Board's Corporate Plans.

Requirements
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent management qualification in Procurement and Supply (e.g., CIPS Professional Diploma)
  • At least 5 years' experience with a demonstrable track record of success in procurement and supply management within a large, complex, service-led organisation preferably within Health and Social Care or comparable Public/Private sector organisations
