Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to work with the award-winning Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust, Research & Innovation team. We deliver a wide range of research and innovation studies across various specialties, both in hospital sites and within the community.

As a Research Scientist, you will work collaboratively with the clinical trials team and the wider multi-disciplinary team in the management of the caseload of clinical trial patients.

The role involves using an in-depth knowledge of trial protocols and their application in practice, alongside a working knowledge and compliance with local, national, and international research regulations.

The role is varied, interesting, dynamic, and often challenging, and you will be supported with research training to develop skills and knowledge.

Main Duties of the Job

We are looking for a colleague to work collaboratively with the clinical trials team and the wider multi-disciplinary team in the management of the caseload of clinical trial patients.

Person Specification

Education

Essential Criteria

  • NMC registration
  • Knowledge of ICH GCP
  • Graduate Level qualification or working towards one

Desirable Criteria

  • Teaching/mentoring qualification/experience
  • Evidence of continuing professional development

Experience

Essential Criteria

  • Minimum 2 years post-registration experience
  • Experience in clinical research trials
  • Experience of collaborating with other agencies

Desirable Criteria

  • Cardiology nursing experience
  • ECG experience

Skills and Knowledge

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Evidence of accuracy to detail in data collection
  • Computer literacy
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work across sites and in community settings
  • Ability to organise, prioritise, and coordinate work of self and colleagues
