About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Domestic Support Staff to join our team at Epsom and St Helier University Hospitals NHS Trust. As a key member of our domestic services team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and hygiene of our hospitals.
Main Responsibilities
As a Domestic Support Staff, you will be responsible for:
- Planning and prioritizing daily tasks to ensure the efficient operation of our domestic services
- Treating patients and service users with dignity and respect
- Emptying and disposing of domestic and clinical waste in accordance with our Infection Control and Waste Disposal Policies
- Carrying out general cleaning tasks, including dusting, cleaning of sanitary fittings and fixtures, and cleaning of floors and surfaces
- Supplying and replenishing consumables, such as paper towels and toilet rolls
- Cleaning sluice rooms, removing dirty linen, and replacing linen bags
- Collecting breakfast and dinner plates and loading/unloading the dishwasher
- Moving and cleaning furniture, including beds and chairs, and maintaining floor areas/surfaces
- Ensuring that all spillages on uncarpeted floors are cleaned up and hazard notices are placed appropriately
