Domestic Support Staff

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our domestic team as a Domestic Support Staff member. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a high level of cleaning and maintenance services to our patients, visitors, and staff.
Main Responsibilities
Key duties of the role include:
- Planning and prioritizing daily tasks to ensure efficient use of time and resources
- Treating patients and service users with dignity and respect
- Emptying and disposing of domestic and clinical waste in accordance with Trust policies
- Carrying out general cleaning tasks, including dusting, polishing, and cleaning of surfaces
- Supplying and replenishing consumables, such as paper towels and soap
- Cleaning sluice rooms, removing dirty linen, and replacing linen bags
- Collecting and loading/unloading dishwasher
- Moving and cleaning furniture, including beds and chairs
- Ensuring spillages are cleaned up and hazard notices are placed appropriately

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience of working as a domestic or in a similar role
- Ability to manage a varied workload and prioritize effectively
- Good communication skills, particularly with patients who are unwell or unable to communicate clearly
- Ability to deal with clinical waste, smells, bodily excretions/fluids, and dirt
