We are seeking an experienced Category Manager Assistant to join our vibrant and dynamic team at our offices in Emersons Green, Bristol. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in delivering a Cost Base Reduction (CBR) committed to the MOD through the development of a cost-effective, commercially-driven supply base.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Senior Category Manager in capturing and analysing data on the existing supply chain, commercial markets, and potential new entrants to the market. You will also assist in the creation and maintenance of strategy plans, working with all stakeholders to deliver the CBR and availability requirements.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Senior Category Manager in data analysis and strategy planning
- Collating documentation and supporting the tendering process
- Participating in cross-functional efforts and collaborating with stakeholders
- Conducting supplier assessments and updating the CBR tracker
- Identifying suppliers with the best capability to satisfy customer requirements
- Assisting the Category Managers in collaborating with suppliers and nurturing relationships
The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a relevant Purchasing/Supply Chain environment, ideally with a HND/degree-level qualification in a relevant subject. You will be a professional and ethical individual with excellent communication skills, able to persuade, influence, and negotiate with internal and external stakeholders.
