About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join our team at HSDC. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing a high-quality pro-active academic and pastoral learning support service for learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualized learning support to learners with additional learning needs, ensuring they have the opportunity to achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and other support professionals to develop and implement effective learning strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting social, emotional, and academic well-being.
  • Work closely with learners, staff, and external agencies to ensure seamless support and progression.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of learning difficulties and disabilities, and the strategies to support these.
Requirements
  • Maths and English qualifications at least at Level 2.
  • Educated to at least Level 3.
  • Proven experience of effective learning support and quality improvement.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Knowledge and/or experience of disabilities and learning difficulties, and strategies to support these.
