About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Higher-Level Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. As a HLTA, you will work closely with the class teacher to provide support to students in a primary school setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the class teacher in planning, preparing and delivering lessons
  • Assist students with their learning, providing individual support as needed
  • Help maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, students and parents

Skill Requirements

  • Excellent team spirit and behaviour management skills
  • Strong command of the curriculum and passion for teaching
  • Up-to-date CV with relevant references
  • DBS registered to the update service or willingness to apply with GSL Education

What We're Looking For

  • A genuine interest in working with students with additional needs
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Good standard of numeracy and literacy
  • Ability to work flexibly and independently
  • Calm under pressure
  • Experience in the classroom (advantageous)

Requirements

  • At least 6 months experience of working with children or in a school
  • HLTA qualification or undergraduate degree in Education
  • Passion for education and improving pupil attainment
