GSL Education are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join one of our client schools in Chandlers Ford. This is an exciting opportunity for a Teaching Assistant to support students and help them thrive in an engaging and positive learning environment.

Role Overview:

As a Teaching Assistant, you will support students in a variety of ways, both inside and outside the classroom. You will assist the teacher with lesson delivery, work one-on-one with students who need extra support, and help create an inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and development. Your role as a TA will be vital in helping students succeed academically and socially.

Key Duties and Responsibilities of the Teaching Assistant:

  • Assist the teacher with classroom activities and lesson planning.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who need extra help with their studies.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive learning atmosphere where students feel confident and engaged.
  • Support classroom management, ensuring students stay focused and motivated.
  • Help develop learning materials to support student activities and engagement.
  • Provide emotional and social support to students, helping them build confidence.
  • Monitor student progress and report back to teachers to contribute to the improvement of learning strategies.
  • A proactive and enthusiastic attitude towards supporting students’ development.
  • Experience in a Teaching Assistant or similar role is desirable but not essential.
  • A genuine passion for working with young people, assisting them to achieve their academic potential.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
  • A solid commitment to safeguarding, ensuring the safety and well-being of all students.
  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have an up-to-date CV and two relevant references from within the last two years.
  • Have an Enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service or be willing to apply for one with GSL Education.
