Job Description

As a Senior Technical Director, you will oversee the engineering activities related to the maintenance, repair, and overhaul of aircraft wheels and brakes. This strategic leadership role requires a deep understanding of MRO processes, regulations, and best practices within the aerospace industry.

Responsibilities include:

  • Defining and implementing the engineering strategy aligned with company goals
  • Providing technical direction and leadership across engineering projects
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure alignment on company objectives
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
  • Implementing best practices for reliability, maintainability, and safety in MRO operations
  • Representing the engineering team at industry conferences, trade shows, and client meetings
Salary and Benefits

The successful candidate will receive an annual salary of up to £55,000, dependent on experience, plus a bonus, company pension, 20 holiday days, and death in service benefits. Employee assistance programs and career progression opportunities are also available.

Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A degree in a relevant engineering discipline or equivalent NVQ Level qualification
  • Previous professional experience in the relevant engineering discipline
  • Demonstrable experience of leading an engineering function, with a proven track record in strategic engineering leadership
  • Regulatory knowledge, including aerospace regulations, safety standards, and quality assurance processes
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products, with ERP software experience an advantage
