Senior Care Assistant/Team Leader Opportunity

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Senior Care Assistant/Team Leader to join our team at Valerian Court Home. As a key member of our care team, you will play a vital role in ensuring our residents receive the highest quality of care and support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and coordinate the care team to maintain a welcoming and efficient atmosphere.
  • Assist residents with personal care, promoting dignity and independence.
  • Oversee medication management, ensuring accurate documentation and administration.
  • Engage with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to provide clear and compassionate communication.
  • Foster a team-focused ethos, promoting a supportive environment for all staff.
  • Welcome visitors and show prospective residents and families around the home's facilities.
  • Respond promptly to emergency call bells and provide or escalate assistance as needed.
  • Maintain and update care plans, risk assessments, and case notes to reflect residents' needs and wishes.
  • Participate in meetings, training, and e-learning to support personal and professional growth.
  • Follow Health and Safety policies, including COSHH regulations, and report any concerns to management.
Requirements:
  • SVQ/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care is essential. We also welcome applicants actively working towards their Level 3 qualification.
  • Experience in practical medication administration with proven competencies.
  • Ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team, while delegating tasks effectively and maintaining a supportive environment.
  • A kind, caring, and compassionate personality with a commitment to person-centred care.
