Job Overview

This is an exciting opportunity to join our dynamic team as an Immunisation Nurse working in a public health programme for pregnant women and birthing people in Barts Health NHS Trust.

Main Responsibilities
  • To contribute to the delivery of a high-quality public health programme for pregnant women and birthing people in Barts Health NHS Trust.
  • To take a pregnant person-centred, public health approach to improve health and tackle inequalities, specifically to raise the uptake of maternal immunisations across Barts Health NHS Trust and the local community.
  • To support the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the immunisation programme delivery for pregnant women/birthing people within Maternity Services within the required targets.
  • To provide advice, information, and promote the immunisation programme to pregnant women/birthing people.
  • To provide support and education to midwives and other staff.
  • To maintain and update electronic records and vaccine-specific databases.
  • To discuss and promote awareness to expectant women/birthing people of the BCG vaccination for all eligible babies.
