Job Title: Creative Editor

Join the Telegraph team as a Creative Editor and take on the exciting challenge of producing engaging, investigative pieces that captivate our audience.

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Creative Editor to lead our foreign desk and drive the production of high-quality content. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for generating ideas, commissioning, editing, and publishing articles that showcase our expertise and commitment to excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement a content strategy that aligns with our editorial vision and goals.
  2. Collaborate with our team of correspondents to shape the reporting and commission graphics to accompany our articles.
  3. Take charge of the editing of our world news coverage on Saturdays, ensuring that our content is accurate, engaging, and meets the highest standards.
  4. Liaise with our foreign correspondents and act as a point of contact during breaking news events.
  5. Work closely with desk editors from multiple departments to ensure seamless collaboration and effective communication.
  6. Engage with our audience through social media platforms, sharing our content and building a community of readers interested in international news.
  7. Identify opportunities to develop your own areas of specialism and develop projects that align with our editorial goals.
  8. Proven track record of news editing in a national or international newsroom, with a strong news sense and ability to seek out exclusives and breaking stories.
  9. Experience of planning coverage of future news events and preparing diary items of news.
  10. Strong ability to write and edit articles clearly, concisely, and to house style.
  11. Proficiency in a second language is desirable.
