Job Title: Bulk / Fleet / Transport Planner (Permanent)

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transport Planner to join our team at Strata Construction Consulting. As a key member of our transport planning team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice and guidance on transport planning projects, working closely with clients and stakeholders to deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of transport planning strategies and concepts, including transport statements, transport assessments, travel plans, parking studies, access studies, and movement and access studies.
  • Provide proactive management and leadership to secure collaborative and cooperative working relationships with clients, colleagues, and staff.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with key clients, achieving excellence in service provision and high levels of technical competence and client satisfaction.
  • Stay up-to-date with relevant standards and policies, raising the profile of Strata Construction Consulting through networking and attending conferences.
  • Support a team of experienced and developing technical staff, providing guidance and support as appropriate.
  • Be involved in high-profile client engagement, stakeholder management, design team liaison, and project management.
  • Ensure projects are delivered to budget, programme, technical standards, and legal requirements.

Requirements:

  • A numerate first degree in Transport, Mathematics, Geography, Civil Engineering, Planning, or a related subject is essential.
  • An MSc in Transport Planning/Engineering is desirable.
  • Experience of operating as a lead client contact for consultancy services and fostering excellent relationships with Clients and co-professionals is essential.
  • Excellent communication skills, with a clear track record of presenting compelling written work in support of development proposals is essential.
  • Knowledge of appropriate transport planning guidance and best practice is essential.
  • Significant experience of delivering a wide range of transport planning projects across specialist areas, including development planning, scheme delivery, sustainable transport, and active travel, is essential.
  • A working knowledge of junction modelling software, such as Junctions 9 (PICADY & ARCADY) and Linsig, with sufficient experience to mentor others in the use of these programmes and interpret and challenge the results returned by them is essential.
  • A high level of numeracy with strong problem-solving skills and innovative thinking is essential.
  • Significant experience and capability in financially and programme managing projects using appropriate business tools is essential.
  • Experience of team management responsibilities, including line management and day-to-day operations, is essential.
  • A robust knowledge of the financial and contractual aspects of planning, bidding, and delivering projects is essential.
  • Postgraduate (or equivalent) experience and nearing Chartership or equivalent commercial experience and responsibility is essential.
