Imperial College London: Academic Positions in Earth Science and Engineering

We are seeking talented academics to join our Department of Earth Science and Engineering at Imperial College London. As a leading institution in the field, we offer a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research and teaching in Earth Science and Engineering.

The successful candidates will have a strong background in Earth Science and Engineering, with a focus on one or more of the following areas:

  • Climate and environment, including sustainability
  • Energy and resources in the context of the energy transition, including raw materials, critical metals, circular economy, geometallurgy, renewable energy and energy storage
  • Artificial intelligence, machine learning and data science

We particularly welcome applications from underrepresented groups, including people from Black and Minority Ethnic backgrounds and women. The positions are full-time, open-ended (tenured) academic positions.

The successful candidates will have the opportunity to:

To be successful in the role, you will have:

  • A PhD or equivalent in an appropriate field
  • A portfolio of research publications, confirming national/international standing (commensurate with career stage)
  • Ability to communicate well, conveying ideas and concepts clearly and effectively
  • Experience of training Undergraduate and Postgraduate students
  • Collaborative minds with an ability to build and sustain effective working relationships, both internally and externally
  • Evidence of contribution to the development and performance of colleagues through coaching, mentoring, and advancing equality, diversity and inclusion
