About the Role

Sir Robert McAlpine is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Design Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will play a crucial role in delivering technically compliant and cost-efficient design solutions on construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with submissions and ensure that all questions have been answered in full, providing a commercial solution with the best possible chance of success.
  • Establish the quality of the design and verify the stage of design development, ensuring compliance with the Employer's Requirements.
  • Identify areas where the compliant design could be improved, providing a better value solution for the project.
  • Confirm that the design is compliant with Statutory Requirements, including Planning Permission, Building Regulations, and CDM regulations.
  • Assess the suitability of the proposed design and provide advice on proposed changes to the design.
Requirements
  • Experience of working within the construction industry, specifically on design and build, new build, and refurbishment projects.
  • Good knowledge of current CDM and Building Regulations.
  • Experience as Design Manager on £100m+ projects.
  • Industrial sector experience would be an advantage.
