Mandatory Skillset:

We are seeking an experienced Database Administrator with hands-on expertise in MSSQL server, AWS Terraform, and Azure. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database administration, cloud computing, and DevOps practices.

Job Description:

As a key member of our Cloud Team, the Database Administrator will be responsible for delivering cloud-related database services and products to internal customers. The primary focus will be on providing end-to-end database support for cloud services, including monitoring, incident response, and incident resolution for the Public and Private Cloud Platform environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring databases to ensure availability, reliability, security, and performance
  • Responding to incidents and escalating them to the appropriate teams as required to ensure SLAs are met
  • Following incident, change, release, and problem management processes
  • Participating in root cause analysis to ensure issues are addressed in a timely manner
  • Developing and implementing automation to remove repetitive tasks and improve database operations

Responsibilities:

Physical Database Support (IaaS)

Database Systems Administration: Responsible for database backup and recovery, examining logs and alerts, maintaining access rights and roles, and database instance version control.

Base Database Monitoring: Essential manual/script technical items, such as service/process up/down, etc.

Database Structural Maintenance: Responsible for database space and storage management, database object management, physical database layout, and temporary space management.

Patch Management: Identification, testing, packaging, and application of necessary security updates, support packs, and other updates associated with supported databases.

Engineering Support: Management and support of database environment provided by engineers with deep technical skills and problem-solving acumen.

Physical Database Support (PaaS)

Advise on best practices for production operation of Database PaaS environments.

Implement database maintenance plans and ensure optimal production configuration is in place.

Database Systems Administration: Responsible for database backup and recovery, examining logs and alerts, maintaining access rights and roles, security group management, and provisioning new databases.

Base Database Monitoring: Service availability, Health Check, Error monitoring, and setup of CloudWatch alerts.

Engineering Support: Management and support of database environment provided by engineers with deep technical skills and problem-solving acumen.
