About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Lead to join our team at the Greater Manchester Combined Authority (GMCA). As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in supporting the development and delivery of projects that align with our Integrated Water Management Plan (IWMP).

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and lead complex projects within the water sector, utilizing a range of solutions to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain effective partnerships with stakeholders, including local authorities, the Environment Agency, and water sector organizations.
  • Collaborate with senior management and teams to drive project success and deliver impact.
  • Ensure projects are delivered through business case gateways, including Initiation, Analysis, Appraisal, and Approval.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry challenges, such as climate change, population growth, aging infrastructure, and regulatory pressures.
Requirements
  • Proven project management experience in the water sector, with a strong understanding of technical, financial, and legal aspects.
  • Excellent communication and partnership-building skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and strategically.
  • Experience working within local government, the water industry, and Environment Agency frameworks is desirable.
