About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Healthcare Assistant to join our multi-disciplinary CAMHS Inpatient Adolescent Team at PlymBridge House. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the delivery of a flexible, client-centred programme of therapeutic activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the provision of physical, social, and psychological care to patients with mental health problems or illnesses.
  • Work under the direction of a registered member of nursing staff, but at times will not have direct supervision.
  • Support and assist qualified staff in the implementation of patient care, including personal hygiene, toileting, undressing and dressing of patients, moving and handling, and assisting with mobilisation.
  • Undertake a range of competencies, including service-specific training, and use clinical decision-making tools to inform care.
  • Provide self-directed, individual activities for specified patients, both in healthcare settings and in the community.
  • Identify and report any safeguarding risks for patients or carers, and know the process to follow.
  • Participate in the unit-wide response team, which responds to any untoward incidents to ensure safety in the wards.
  • Carry out tasks and instructions assigned by the registered nurse, and provide mentorship and support to junior staff or students.
  • Engage with audits, quality improvement projects, and service changes as directed by the ward manager.
