About The Role

As a key member of Ecotricity's Transactional Finance team, this position is responsible for managing customer payments, including credit card, bank receipts, and direct debits. The successful candidate will ensure timely and accurate cash allocation, working closely with internal and external stakeholders to provide query support and deliver exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Post payments to customer accounts within agreed timescales
  • Deal with queries regarding customer payments from internal and external contacts
  • Provide cover for other Accounts Receivable Specialists in their absence
  • Process customer refunds
  • Work closely with staff in the finance and business teams to assist with ad-hoc queries
  • Perform other AR-related activities as requested by the Team Leader, Manager, or Head of Department
About You

The Accounts Receivable department is a fast-paced and high-volume environment, requiring a methodical approach, attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with excellent communication skills, numeracy, and literacy, able to work to daily deadlines as part of a close-knit team.

As an Accounts Receivable Specialist, you will be in contact with Ecotricity customers and other internal departments, requiring good communication skills and a focus on customer service. This role involves handling sensitive financial data, requiring someone who can demonstrate maturity, sensitivity, and discretion.

Requirements
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal & written), including English language
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office software, particularly Excel and Word
  • Excellent level of numeracy and accuracy
  • Detail-oriented and self-motivated
  • Experience using billing systems such as Junifer, Workday, or SAP
  • Accurate data entry experience
  • Finance/Cash Allocation experience
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to identify root causes of problems
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage deadlines in a fast-moving environment
  • Ability to learn new tasks
  • Working knowledge of Pay As You Go activities
