Data Governance Specialist

Lockton International is embarking on a transformative journey to enhance its data capabilities, led by an agile data management team. As a Data Governance Specialist, you will work closely with the Data Governance team to support the fulfillment of Lockton's data management program. This role requires a unique blend of technical skills and data governance expertise.

Key Responsibilities

The day-to-day responsibilities of this role include:

  • Collaborating with data stewards to enforce the Data Ownership framework and drive key data initiatives
  • Managing the company data quality log and working with business teams to resolve reported issues
  • Supporting data-led projects and their implementation across systems and business teams
  • Developing and maintaining data glossaries to establish enterprise data standards
  • Creating Power BI reports to monitor data quality and create mastered data
  • Utilizing SQL tables to produce reports
  • Partnering with IT, project teams, and business stakeholders to ensure effective data governance
  • Ensuring compliance with Lockton's data policy, procedures, and standards

Requirements

We are seeking a strong candidate with a passion for data governance and a proven track record of producing positive results in data challenges. The ideal candidate will be able to adapt to a fast-paced environment where priorities can change quickly and demonstrate excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Desirable Qualifications

The following qualifications are highly desirable:

  • Experience working in a data governance analyst or BA role
  • Good experience partnering with the business and/or IT on data projects
  • Data profiling, data analysis, and manipulation skills
  • Analytical capability and analytical skills
  • Issues and risks identification and mitigation skills
  • Root cause analysis skills
  • Qualitative and quantitative analysis skills
  • End-to-end development of PowerBI Reports (ETL, data modeling, expression writing, and report writing)
  • Experience with data mastery
  • Good practices in SQL development
  • Advanced Excel (Power Query, Power Pivot, etc.)
  • Experience using Informatica Data Quality (IDQ) is highly desirable
