About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Front End Software Engineer to join our team at Rightmove. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality software and products that meet the needs of our users.

Key Responsibilities
  • Developing features and improvements to our web applications using modern technologies such as Typescript, React, and Next.
  • Collaborating with internal contacts and the team to find solutions to complex problems.
  • Contributing to key decisions, including which features to include during team sprints.
  • Estimating user stories and reviewing other developers' code.
  • Investigating and promoting the latest technologies and best practices.
  • Working in an Agile environment and coaching and mentoring less experienced engineers.
Requirements
  • Great problem-solving skills and enthusiasm for testing and promoting TDD.
  • Experience with React testing frameworks such as Jest and React Testing Library.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality code and debate the merits of different solutions.
  • Keen interest in the performance of live applications and how users interact with them.
  • Initiative to improve the way the team works and share knowledge with others.
  • Ability to ask questions and use the experience of others.
  • Sense of ownership and responsibility for the work delivered.
