About the Role

Leicestershire County Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to join our team in the Goods Out department. As a key member of our logistics team, you will be responsible for supervising a small team of warehouse staff, ensuring that work is completed to the highest standards and meeting our regularly updated daily output plan.

Main Duties

  • Supervise and train warehouse staff to ensure efficient completion of tasks and meeting performance targets.
  • Create and review periodic replenishment reports to meet daily output plans.
  • Determine staff and fork lift truck resource requirements and assign work to staff/drivers.
  • Monitor outstanding movements and ensure efficient completion against short-term objectives.
  • Liaise with Loaders and other Supervisors concerning items needing 'finishing'.
  • Receive, prioritise and assign urgent requirements.

Health and Safety

  • Ensure a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Operate with a duty of care and consideration for yourself, colleagues and all users of the warehouse.
  • Wear personal protective equipment, including approved Safety Footwear and High Visibility jackets/waistcoats, at all times while working in the warehouse and service yard.

About You

  • Hold a current certificate of competence for electric stacker truck.
  • Have NVQ 2 or equivalent.
  • Experience of picking and packing, and despatch process in a large 'manual picking' Distribution Warehouse.
  • Be numerate and literate, with competent keyboard skills and ability to use WMS computer system and Microsoft Office.
  • Able to motivate staff to achieve output and KPI results.
