Senior Design Engineer - Reactor Protection System

Derby or Warrington / Hybrid

We are Rolls-Royce SMR, a pioneering company revolutionizing the nuclear industry. This is a once-in-a-career opportunity for those excited by a challenge. As a Senior Design Engineer, you will be part of a legacy project, delivering an industry-leading, cutting-edge design for a new type of nuclear power station.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical expertise across the lifecycle of hardwired protection and accident management systems for the SMR nuclear power plant 'reactor island'.
  • Deliver the complete design of the systems, spanning requirements gathering, development of system architecture, sub-system design and equipment specification.
  • Work closely with engineering teams from across the reactor island, applying a structured systems engineering approach to design.
Requirements:
  • Collaborate with Plant Process Engineers and other C&I Engineers to gather and develop system requirements.
  • Translate these requirements into a verified design of the systems in support of the overall design of the power station.
