We are seeking a highly experienced Finance Director to join our client, a leading retail business, in their search for a strategic leader to drive financial growth and success. As a key member of the management team, you will be responsible for shaping and implementing the financial strategy to support growth across both e-commerce and physical stores.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive financial strategy to drive business growth, improve profitability, and enhance financial performance.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis: Lead the budgeting and forecasting processes, providing financial insights and advice to the leadership team to inform long-term planning and decision-making.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Oversee the delivery of monthly management reports, analyze performance and trends, and provide recommendations to the team to drive improvement.
  • Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring the business has the necessary funds to support growth and operations.
  • Cost Control: Implement cost-saving initiatives, streamline expenses, and optimize inventory levels to maintain profitability.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and motivate the finance and purchasing teams, working closely with other departments to support business objectives.
  • Systems and Technology: Oversee financial systems, ensuring they are functioning properly, and support system integration with the e-commerce platform.
  • Stakeholder Management: Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, including auditors and group representatives, and prepare financial presentations for board meetings and group updates.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Fully qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with a strong commercial background.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years' experience in a senior finance role, ideally within a retail organization, with a high degree of communication skills and experience managing and motivating staff.
  • Skills: Excellent systems and Excel skills, strong digital skills, and experience of automation, as well as a thorough understanding of management accounting principles and techniques.
