We're investing heavily in our Data Engineering capabilities at Carwow, ensuring we have the expertise to deliver infrastructure and data-driven best practices that support the growing needs of our Data Analytics team. Our tech stack is primarily Ruby on Rails using PostgreSQL, all hosted on Heroku. We use Terraform to manage our infrastructure and encourage teams to be involved in how we deploy and run our code in Production.

Your Role

  1. Lead the design, development, and maintenance of robust ETL/ELT data pipelines.
  2. Write, optimize, and review advanced SQL queries for data extraction and transformation.
  3. Implement and manage sophisticated data workflows and dependencies using tools like Airflow.
  4. Design, build, and maintain advanced data models and data warehouses using Snowflake or similar technologies.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand complex data requirements and deliver efficient solutions.
  6. Evaluate and ensure high data quality, integrity, and security across the data lifecycle.
  7. Continuously improve data engineering processes and infrastructure, and implement best practices.

What You'll Need

We're looking for a Senior Data Engineer with significant experience in software or data engineering, preferably in a senior or lead role. You should be highly proficient in writing Python and SQL, have extensive experience building and optimizing complex ETL/ELT data pipelines, and be skilled in managing and optimizing script dependencies with tools like Airflow. Experience leading and mentoring junior data engineers, and guiding teams through complex projects, is also essential.
