Electrical Engineer Job Description

At WSP, we're seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Energy Transition team, you'll play a crucial role in delivering projects that drive innovation and efficiency in the electrical sector.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop cost-effective, efficient, and innovative solutions to complex electrical problems.
  • Deliver projects across various stages, from feasibility studies to detailed design, ensuring high-quality electrical deliverables.
  • Collaborate with clients, owners, operators, and investors to assess electrical asset condition, risk, opportunity, and need for intervention.
  • Develop and maintain expertise in electrical design, operation, maintenance, and testing, with a focus on medium and high-voltage equipment and systems.
  • Work closely with the project team to ensure timely and within-budget project delivery.
Requirements:
  • Degree or similar qualification in a relevant engineering subject, supported by significant postgraduate experience in electrical design and/or operation, maintenance, and testing.
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards IEng/CEng and a member of a relevant engineering institute.
  • Proven understanding of the design process, with experience in producing calculations and commissioning, operating, maintaining, and testing electrical systems.
