Job Summary

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual with excellent communication skills to assist in the provision of urgent and routine dental care. The successful candidate will be a qualified dental nurse with a good standard of education and the ability to work well within a team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively with dental service staff, service users, and health professionals on a daily basis.
  • Provide oral health information and advice to service users and their families.
  • Assist clinicians during treatment, anticipating the needs of both the clinician and the service user.
  • Act as a chaperone during procedures.
  • Supervise service users undergoing general anesthesia, in collaboration with anaesthetic staff, and provide pre- and post-operative advice.
  • Prepare surgery and clinical equipment for procedures.
  • Arrange instruments, medicaments, and materials for clinical use, handling fine instruments and manipulating them during procedures.
  • Assemble and dismantle specialized equipment, following aseptic non-touch technique, and maintain equipment according to manufacturers' recommendations.
  • Decontaminate dental units and water bottles, adhering to infection control policies and procedures.
  • Verify service users' details and advise clinicians of any relevant circumstances.
  • Record dental charting electronically or on paper.
  • Participate in clinical and non-clinical audits as required.
